Toucari delivers seminar discussion platform for HFW.

Holman Fenwick Willan is a global law firm, advising on all aspects of international commerce and shipping.  With the recent spate of hijackings at sea, particularly off the coast of Somalia, HFW head of Admiralty hosted a seminar advising the shipping and insurance industries on how to respond to specific instances and how to deal with the associated problems generally.

Toucari was commissioned to design and build a system enabling HFW to share seminar materials, showcase speaker biographies and generate discussion and feedback following seminars of this kind.  The discussion platform is in use for a number of events including the Piracy seminar at Lloyds and can be reused for future events.  Toucari designed and built the system with it’s partner GM Toucari.

James Huckle, Commercial Director at HFW, said, “We worked with Toucari and GM Toucari to develop the piracy blog, to support our seminar that was attended by almost 400 people – we wanted to find a way of engaging, and continuing to engage after the event, with everyone that attended. We publicised the blog widely and have had some excellent dialogue with clients and interested parties as a result – generating other coverage and interaction for us, well beyond the initial seminar itself. The piracy blog, and others we are working on, are an important part of using through the line marketing to establish a leadership position in our core areas.”

The functionality includes features for managing and moderating comments and questions which arise.  Contributors can learn from each others experiences and the host has an opportunity to improve their rate of post-event follow-up.
